JDR Website Design process

Here's how JDR ensure you will get the right website for your business:

The JDR Website Design process is our documented system to ensure our websites are created quickly and effectively so you get the website you want:

  1. Initial ‘diagnostic’ meeting
The idea of the first meeting is purely exploratory – for us to understand your business and to explain how we can help you. We will show you examples of websites we have designed and other websites in your industry to work out what you need to ensure your website will work for you. From this meeting we can then put a written proposal together for you.
  2. Website planning meeting
At the second meeting we will go through our proposal for the new website, and if accepted, plan the website with you.
  3. Design Brief
Your webcoach will ask you about the type of website you want during your meeting, and will prepare a design brief based on your answers, which we will use for the design process. We will email a summary to you of the brief so that you can check it - if there are any alterations or any changes please let us know within 2 working days so we can ensure we get the changes before we begin the artwork. This enables us to be able to get your artwork done right first time.
  4. To Do List
You will receive a to do list via email, of which certain items will be needed straight away for the artwork - for example photos, logos, etc. Please note that we will not begin the artwork until we have completed all the necessary paperwork (including standing order forms) and, if we are using them in the design, received all the pictures and logos we need for design.
  5. Design Template
We will then email you a draft version of the home page as a jpeg (a picture file). We will then go through the design with you via telephone to confirm that you are happy with the graphics BEFORE we upload the design onto your new website.
  6. Design Approval
If you do ask us to make changes of course we will do so, please make the instructions as specific as possible, and also ensure they are thorough so that we make ALL the changes required. Once you have received the email we will require approval on the graphics before we go ahead and upload the design - please ensure that everyone involved in the final website has a look at the design BEFORE approval is given.
  7. Upload
Once approved the design will be uploaded onto our server, and we will arrange a 'content meeting' with you.
  8. Content Meeting
The content meeting is to finalise your website - and where you pay the final balance of the website. Your webcoach will go through the information for each page with you to make sure the finished product is right, and will show you how to associate your domain name (unless we have purchased one for you) and, if you have chosen content management we will give you the date of our next training session.
  9. Training
We will provide training in one, or more, of 4 ways: we can do it one on one with you at our second meeting with you; We can invite you to our offices for a formal training session, which we hold once every 3-4 weeks (recommended); We also have an online tutorial and can hold a webinar.
